The laptop is completely different compared to a desktop. Although they seem to serve the same purpose, the laptop holds its own ground. First it is portable while still allowing access your files and to the Internet; the laptop is much more compact and has become more and more efficient throughout the years. The laptop CPU has been compacted so that it can fit into a much smaller device, as opposed to a desktop. It has both a RAM and a Disk Drive Memory. These differ in that the RAM is the current usage of your computer while the Disk Drive Memory is your long term memory. In your laptop, you have the option of adding more RAM into your laptop to make it faster. Perhaps you need even more memory than your laptop can handle, there is always the option of having an external hard drive. There are CDs, USBs, or portable hard drives. Another feature of the laptop includes the Video Graphic Card which enhances the speed and quality of your games or movies. Most laptops already come with one, but now many users are buying an extra so that they can make their laptop even more efficient. This also helps with loading and the lag while you are working or playing. Finally, the battery of the laptop. This feature is one that is only needed in laptops; this makes it possible to be mobile while using your laptop. There are three main types of laptop batteries: Nickel-Cadmium, Nickel-Metal Hydride, and Lilion battery. The latter is the lilon is the current standard. They are light and also have a long life span. The other two are not the most popular because of their negative side-effects or short life spans. All in all, laptops have been experiencing their own boom because of this popular feature of portability.

Google Site!
The google sites help send out messages to other people from your family members to your classamtes. You can upload different things such as slideshows of how your summer went to your google calender so that people can see what you are up to. For example, my teacher uses his google site so that his students, such as myself, can go on it to check what is due for next class and what he expects out of us. I love it because I can check it where ever there is a computer and I don't have to worry about forgetting what the homework is.Blogs
As you can see, blogs are used to communicate with practically anyone. Family and friends can access it to see how you're doing, or you can use blogs to learn about certain topics in our ever so complicated world. This blog is for my class, however it has shown me that I can express my thoughts and allow the world to understand my opinion as well as give their own.
Picasa
Have you ever used Photoshop and just got sick and tired of trying to figure out which code to use so that you could put your pictures of for all your friends to see? Well Picasa is the free application from Google that allows you to put the pictures that you choose online for the world to see. Not only that but it is also another way to store your photos on your desktop and edit them. Not as fancy as Photoshop but it definitely has its perks. Now I can simply use this to put different photos on my site for Tech or display them for any other kind of project.

Ever wanted to take a picture of your computer screen 
but you just didnt know how? Well the solution to all your problems is right here. The screenshot tool allows you to simply take a snap shot of your desktop screen and apply it as something you simply need to 'paste'. As you can see from the picture to the right, all you have to do is press Alt and PrtScr. :) Now instead of looking ridiculous taking a picture of your screen for information in class, all you have to do is push two little buttons and voila!

Wordle
Wordle, as you can see on the right, is a website that conjures up word clouds. By simply putting in various words of your choice, the computer automatically arranges them and you can edit them as you wish. I can use this in school for creative lists, cover pages, or in presentations.
Get YouTube
There have been so many times where I have needed some sort of video for class, when the internet just decided to fail on me. Now, because of Get Youtube I don't need to worry about that. With Get Youtube, I can download different videos from YouTube onto my computer as an MP4 file. This way, I don't need internet to view the file and I can still present it to my class.
